In late June 2003, Jiaozuo Institute of Technology developed the production of non-clinker white cement. The kaolin is ground to 325 mesh and calcined at 650-850°C for 6 hours to become active metakaolinite, followed by 40 to 65% of metakaolin, 20 to 30% of gypsum powder, and 20 to 20 g of lime. At 30%, 0.3% of water-reducing admixture was added to produce clinker-free white cement. This clinker-free white cement has a compressive strength of 52.2 MPa and can be used to produce clinker-free white cement products, dry powder architectural coatings, fire-free, steam-free cement-free fly ash bricks and blocks, and the like.
