Sonderhoff FIPFG sealing technology

The sealing technology expert Sonderhoff of the Westhoff Group, together with its sister company EDF, a well-known manufacturer of low-pressure mixing and dosing systems, demonstrated for the first time at this year's plastics and plastics system methods for sealing, bonding and casting.

With the continuous improvement of product quality, efficiency and safety, traditional hand-filled or direct-injection sealing methods have gradually been replaced by fully automatic polymer sealing equipment. Sonderhoff uses the FIPFS principle to achieve real-time sealing of products. FIPFG seals thixotropic foam molding of polyurethane or silicone fluids using special low-pressure mixing and dosing equipment. The FIPFG technology does not use chemical foaming agents and is conducive to environmental protection.

EDF's two-component or multi-component dosing blending system DM 402/403 for foaming, sealing, gluing, and forming of different types of components. The system is capable of processing liquids, medium and high viscosity media such as polyurethanes, silicones, epoxy resins and other polymers. The EDF MK 400/600 precision mixing head developed by EDF employs a patented high-pressure water cleaning system. The use of this technology can bring a series of advantages, mainly related to quality and efficiency.

Sonderhoff's products mainly cover the automotive, lighting, electronics, home appliances and packaging. For example, Rittal, the world's largest switchgear manufacturer, uses Sonderhoff's PU foam sealing system and EDF's mixing and dosing feeders to produce switchgear.

Westhoff will soon establish an office in China and Sonderhoff (China) will supply PU and silicone raw materials, as well as EDF's mixing and dosing feeders. In addition, it will provide Chinese customers with localized spare parts, technical support and samples.
