Nestlé Launches Plastic Cup Coffee Packaging

Nestlé launched a revolutionary new Dolce Gutsto coffee system. In conjunction with this coffee machine, Nestlé launched a unique disposable cup-shaped coffee package. From then on, consumers will be able to obtain the coffee quality provided by the coffee house at home.

This cup-shaped package was jointly developed by Nestlé and RPC Tedeco-Gizeh, and RPC's dedicated production line at its Bouxwiller plant in France was responsible for its manufacture.

This cup-shaped package is designed and manufactured to meet two harsh conditions: one is to ensure that the product has a long shelf life, and the other is to withstand the high pressure of the Dolce Gusto coffee machine. The average coffee machine pressure is relatively low, and Dolce Gusto's pressure is as high as 14 bar. Such high pressure is only available in professional coffee machines.

This cup-shaped packaging is thermoformed from polypropylene material. An EVOH barrier layer provides oxygen-barrier protection, which can extend the shelf life of the product. The manufacturing process of this container is very accurate, allowing very small tolerances to ensure continuity and reliability when brewing coffee.
