Post-print cutting technology is more difficult, cutting errors will directly lead to product scrapping, so operators must carefully read the construction list, analyze the content of the cutting and the relevant size changes. The following is the author's summary of some of the requirements during the cutting operation.

1 Regular cutting inserts, according to the requirements of the construction order, determine the size of the rules corresponding to the text specifications.

2 Cut chart, should determine the thickness of the knife or cut according to the required number of copies according to the paper, the ratio of the front mouth, the mouth, the head and the feet should meet the requirements.

3 cut double book bindings, should pay attention to the book off, after the two (two knife) page size specifications.

4 To cut the book cover, according to the size and thickness of the book block, determine the width of the back of the book, and calculate the size of the cover to ensure that the cover text and pattern of the book are evenly spaced from the four sides of the book.

5 Cut hardcover shell material, cover material should be calculated according to the size of the reasonable, at the same time should be marked in particular the direction of the paper silk.

6 Check the dryness of the ink. You can use white paper to press the printing surface to check if there is ink or pressure, to determine if it can be cut. And the first inspection of the product to see if there is a knife flower, side hair, cut mouth with or without ink dirty. Sometimes pad or padding should be added depending on the print condition.

7 Cutting Hot stamps, die-cuts, indentations, or glazing sheets must pay special attention to the accuracy of the cut size and must not damage the print surface. Due to the smooth surface of the coated sheet, cutting aids should be used as appropriate.

In the following, a hydraulic program-controlled cutter is used as an example to illustrate the cutting operation.

Work content: cutting semi-finished products (430mm × 605mm)

Finished product size: 210mm × 297mm

Steps:

1 Open the cutter switch, check the safety device, set the pressure;

2 Use the keyboard on the operation panel to input the cutting size, set the size of the feeder to 425mm, and perform the long-edge cutting first;

3 Collapsing paper baskets, close to the pusher and side gauges;

4 Press the foot pedal, the paper presser will fall, and the paper roll will be pressed and positioned;

5 Press the left and right keys with both hands, drop the knife, and complete the cutting;

6 Remove the paper scraps. Turn the paper basket clockwise by 90° and cut the second knife by 600mm.

7 cut third knife 420mm;

8 cutting the fourth knife 210mm, the two points cut paper clockwise 90 °;

9 cutting fifth knife 594mm;

10 cut sixth knife 297mm.
