First, the significance of low cost to achieve high quality printing

Continuously improving the quality of printed matter and improving its visual effects has always been the goal of the printing man. Every new technological revolution, especially the continuous innovation of prepress technology, has brought about a progress in the quality of printed matter.

However, not all new technologies and high-quality prints can increase the competitiveness of printed products, thereby bringing more profits to printing companies. In some cases, the cost of printing will increase with the adoption of new technologies, making it a bottleneck for adopting new technologies. In the increasingly fierce market competition, people will also consider the profitability of products while pursuing quality improvement. Therefore, under the premise of not increasing the production cost, the significant improvement of print quality should be the goal pursued by all printing companies.

Second, high-quality printing and network technology

1. Print Limiting the Quality of Printed Products

From the visual effects of prints to improve the quality of prints, the development of prepress technology has played a very important role. The continuous innovation of the equipment: From the photographic color separation, electronic color separation to DTP, which is now called CTF, until now the most advanced CTP, the visual effect of printed matter has indeed been improved. However, people tend to ignore the role of software technology in them, especially network technology.

CTP is currently the hottest topic. After adopting CTP, the printing quality has actually improved compared with CTF, but there is no substantial breakthrough, because the factors constraining the quality of printed matter are not only the copy quality of the printing plate, but also the copying limit of the printing press. Very important factor. CTP can reproduce 10 lines on the plate, but when printing, it is difficult to take into account the 10 yin and yang lines. See (Figure 1). The left column shows the pattern on the plate and the right column shows the printed matter. Therefore, people are looking for ways to break through the printing limit, and adopting new types of outlets is one of the ways. CTP is a good foundation for the application of new types of outlets.

2. Network classification and characteristics

Currently, there are three types of network point technologies, AM, FM, and Hybrid Screen, and their application effects vary.

1) AM outlets

The amplitude modulation network (AM) is the most widely used network point. It is characterized by the fixed position and number of the network points, the level of the network points to express the level, and the different angles of the screen, the number of network lines and the shape of the network points. Its advantages are: intermediate tone performance is good, over-smooth and natural, printing conditions defects will only affect the highlights and dark tone, will not affect the effect of the entire image copy; its disadvantages are: easy to perceive the network of flowers below 200 lpi, the image is not enough delicate, Occasionally, a real moire is produced. When a high screen is used, highlights and shadows are easily affected by printing conditions.
