Because of the different equipment used, the purpose to be achieved is different, and the color management also has different workflows. It is impossible to list them here. We use an example of the simplest workflow to illustrate how color management works. In this work, three types of equipment were used: digital cameras, computer monitors, inkjet printers, and only one type of software, Photoshop. The first step is to prepare respective device color characteristic ICC files for the three devices. After the white balance is corrected by the digital camera, the SG color card is photographed, and the current environment camera iICC is obtained through software calculation, and it is saved in the specified location of the system (winNT \ system32 \ spool \ drivers \ color). Because a simple epson R230 printer is used, the simple RGB mode TC2.18 color card is printed without blocking, and the color card is measured using a spectrophotometer to obtain the I230 file of R230 and save it in the specified location of the system (In winNT \ system32 \ spool \ drivers \ color). Click on the printer properties to add it as a printer color management profile. Step 2: Specify the dedicated icc of the image Open a photo with the same environment as when the color card was taken. Use Photoshop's "Specify as profile" command to select the ICC file of the digital camera that was just made. You will find that the image color immediately changes, changes and the actual scene color Closer. If you need to adjust or put it into other software, you can convert it to the workspace you are most familiar with and most commonly used (such as Adobe RGB or sRGB). Note: The conversion to the familiar ICC space is mainly because the colors displayed in the Photoshop color panel of these spaces are familiar to everyone and easier to control visually. Step 3: Save the image after modification After modifying the image, save it, be sure to check the ICC configuration file. Step 4: Monitor before printing When you need to use a certain image to print, after opening the image, click View / Proofing Settings / Custom, select the ICC of the printer you have made, and see the color changes that will occur during printing. If the color changes are too large, you can select Proofing After the color, fine-tune the color of the picture again visually until satisfied. Step 5: Print correctly Choose to print, in the print space, you can choose the ICC of the printer that has been made (you need to close the color management in the printer settings). You can also choose to let the printer control the color (requires color management in the printer settings to select ICM). In this process, the role of digital camera ICC and printing ICC is obvious and intuitive, and we need to choose it directly. However, the function of the monitor ICC is relatively invisible. It controls the color on the computer monitor in the background. With it, it can ensure that the color seen on the display is the color that the image should actually have. A good workflow must have the following characteristics: 1. Are all devices calibrated and have ICC files 2. Whether all files have clear built-in ICC files (placed in ICC when saving) 3. Must use the built-in color management engine control software (such as photoshop) to work 4. Can you control the changes during color conversion (control of conversion intention)
