Two new standards in the field of furniture have been officially implemented in July.

It was learned from the official website of Zhejiang Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau that QB/T 2280-2016 "office furniture office chair" and QB/T 4934-2016 "conjoined dining table and chair" were drafted by Zhejiang Institute of Furniture and Hardware. It will be implemented on July 1, 2016.

The newly implemented "office furniture office chair" standard regulates the office chair by the dimensions, appearance, physical and chemical properties, mechanical properties, flame retardant, harmful substances and safety of the office chair. Compared with the previous version, the standard name, term definition, classification, requirements, test methods and sampling methods have been revised to adapt to the new industry situation. The new standard has increased the "metal coating corrosion resistance", "TVOC" and "safety" and other testing items put forward higher requirements for office chairs.

The newly-developed "conjoined dining table and chair" standard regulates the conjoined dining table and chair from size, logo, appearance, physical and chemical properties, harmful substances, and mechanical properties. At the same time, it also developed the first set of conjoined dining tables and chairs in China. The equipment fills the blank of the quality requirements and testing methods of the connected dining table and chair.

The new standard puts forward more reasonable requirements for products. After the implementation of the standard, the office chair and the connected dining table and chair industry will be effectively regulated, which will play an active role in protecting consumers' personal safety and promoting the development of the industry.
