Borstar's new PE 2G process

Borstar (Borealis)'s new PE process, Borstar PE 2G, utilizes the company's metallocene single-site catalyst technology and multiphase reactor technology to "customize" PE resins according to performance requirements. The BorstarPE 2G process has been commissioned at PE installations in Porvoo, Finland and Stenungsund, Sweden and is currently being used for the production of commonly used flexible packaging and industrial LLDPE resins in new facilities in Schwechat, Austria. The new Borstar FB 4370 has a balance of rigidity and toughness, which reduces the film thickness and makes the film easy to open. Borstar FB 4250 is a heavy-duty package that requires high-quality, high-quality film grades. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring high rigidity, mechanical strength, and transparency. The film thickness can be reduced by 20% to 25%. BorstarPE 2G technology can also produce PE100-grade grades, with slow growth of cracks and long life. The benefits of the BorstarPE 2G process include: reduced production processes, convenient transport and use of catalysts, and therefore greater safety, reduced energy consumption in the production process by 7%, and increased plant production capacity.
