Japan developed a UV transparent film

Toppan Printing Co. Ltd. recently successfully developed a film for food and pharmaceutical packaging. This film can effectively prevent the UV radiation, but also transparent.

According to reports, the film is a transparent ordinary film plus an ink coating, the coating allows visible light penetration, but can absorb and reflect the ultraviolet light in the spectrum.

The general UV protection packaging is made of aluminum, so the packaging is opaque. Although some manufacturers have tried to achieve the effect of UV protection by coating the transparent film, the effect is not obvious, and the transparency is not good.

The film introduced by Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. only allows 1% UV penetration, which can effectively protect food and medicines from decomposition due to radiation, while allowing consumers to clearly see the products in the package.

The company hopes to use this film to bring in sales of 100 million yen in the fiscal year 2006 and plans to reach 1 billion yen three years later.
