Recently, PLB Group released a plastic bottled wine at Waitrose Supermarket in the United Kingdom. This cup-sized plastic bottle of wine is called La Copita, Spanish means a small cup, 187ml per bottle. The red, white and rosé wines are bundled in three kits, with a suggested retail price of £2.39. The combination of this new packaging concept and ergonomic design uses polyethylene terephthalate (PET) designed to be lightweight and durable, environmentally friendly and recyclable. La Copita is produced by the Bodegas Lozano winery in La Mancha, Spain. White wine is 100% Verdejo, red wine is 100% Tempranillo, and rosé is 100% Bobal.
